[Book Review] Young Samurai #6 – The Ring of Fire

I've been for such a long time for this book to come out! Well, to be honest... I kind of think that the 5th book is a bit childish. Dunno, is it only me getting older or is is the book is kind of a bit of kiddies. Anyway, stepping that aside (well, it is children's li, the story very interesting. It's heart warming to see Jack being reunited with his friends. And there're also a lot of tragic cases and scenes that robs your heart. When I read the the Ring of Fire, reading Jack and his friends plotting, making strategies, advancing and so on, I felt just like being with them!

Summary

After a snowstorm forces him to take shelter, Jack comes across a village in need of protection from raiding mountain bandits. Torn between moving on or helping, Jack is persuaded to stay and fight the villagers' cause.

Hello, ladies and germs! For today, I’m going to share my beautiful art works of… Animated GIFs!

Well, you see… I’ve made many GIFs including funny gifs, anime food gifs, violent gifs, crazy gifs, annoying gifs, etc. until the folder I store my gifs in reached the climax around 150 MB. And that’s when an idea pooped into my brain! Whenever the storage reached 150 MB, I’ll zip it, upload it, and then share it with the world!

Yuki: ね、カオコちゃん、今何時? (Ne, Kaoko-chan, ima nan ji?) - Hey, Kaoko-chan. What time is it now?

Kaoko: 十一時五分だよ。 (Juu ichi ji go fun da yo.) - It’s fifty past eleven.

In this lecture, I, Kaoko-sama… will be teaching how to read times in Japanese, and many few other things. I have posted a post about numbers and counting, so I hope you’ve already read them, or you’ve already know how to count from zero to hundred (and that’s fair enough).

Reading time in Japanese is very simple. Like saying 5 o’clock, you’ll just have to add ji, after the number: go ji (five o’clock), roku ji (six o’clock), nana ji (seven o’clock), etc.

Anyway, let’s learn everything in order!

[Book Review] Japanese Verbs: Saying What You Mean

This book helped me a lot in my Japanese studies! Simple explanation, good examples, and wonderful teacher!

First I knew about Tim-sensei (the book’s author) was when I was looking for a website which teaches you about Japanese verbs. His site came first on the google search list. The website was very simple and I find it really useful; many notes to take, many lessons to learn from, and many other things.

Because I didn’t have a printer back then, I use to take 2 hours of my time a day, and sit next to the laptop with a notebook and my pencil case.

I will copy each lesson with a determined heart. Until one day I ended up buying the book from the Amazon!

I never regretted my choice. It really did help me in many ways!

[Book Review] My Brother Sam Is Dead

Although I found the title… kind of weird (lame), I found the story good and interesting. I only read it out of boredom.

It takes place in America 1600 (or 1700), about Sam Meeker who left his home in Redding, Connecticut, a town loyal to the king, to fight with the rebel army (the English), he places his family in a very difficult position. The story teller is Sam’s little brother, Timothy Meeker.

What I learnt in this book:-

I learnt a lot about the revolution war, as well as how the people use to live in those days. It’s a great mix of fact and fiction.

A Random Old Lady With Heavy Makeup (passing by and saw a corpse in the hallway): キャアアアアア！ 死骸！死骸！君の御嬢ちゃん、警察と救急車を呼んっで！ (Kyaaaaaa! Shigai! Shigai! Kimi no ojou-chan, keisatsu to kyuukyuusha wo yonde!) - Kyaaaaaa! A corpse! There’s a dead body ! You girl over there, call the police and the ambulance!

Japanese counting is easy. You just have to memorize basic numbers, and you’ll find the rest of the trials easy.

[Japanese Book] Kokugo ni-jō tanpopo

This is a Japanese elementary book for grade two (I think/guess). I got this book from a Japanese embassy here in the country I am currently living in. It's cool to learn the way how native children learn. It's too bad I only got this book at the moment (I wish at least I'd have the first book).

I begin learning with this book after I mastered all the Kana characters and after getting to know some of the Kanji characters.

It won't get you anywhere if you just opened the book without having to know anything of how Japanese system works.

Even after I learnt the Japanese verbs from Tim-sensei, adjectives, particles, etc.

[Japanese] Laugh Your Head Off! Smile To Your Heart's Content!

Person 1: What is a verb for 'laugh' in Japanese? :3
Person 2: 笑う (warau)
Person 1: Then, what is a verb for 'smile' in Japanese? :3
Person 2: 笑う (warau)
Person 1: ...

Yup, it may sounds absurd. But the verb for smile and laugh can share the same word in Japanese. Or at least, that's what I've noticed so far.

• 笑む/えむ (emu)

Japanese Phrases - Itterasshai! Ittekimasu!

When you shall say... itterasshai... and... ittekimasu... lesson.

These phrases are very Japanese, and do not have literal translation.

行ってらっしゃい (itterasshai): You say this to someone when they are leaving home, either for work, school, etc. Which often translated to -> see you [later]; have a good day, have a safe journey; take care, etc.

Japanese people say this to express their hope that family members will come back to the house safely.

Have you ever noticed the similaraties between Magic Kaito and Detective Conan? I've collected most of the data . I love TRIVIA after all !

1. Ginzo Nakamori and Kogoro Mouri:

• They both looked alike (beside the hairstyles [and their moustache style]).
• They both have somewhat similar second name 'Nakamori', 'Mouri'. 
• And they both have daughters that looked identical to each (except the hairstyles).

My Little Brother & His Homework!

One day, father brought my little crying brother to me.  Yukimaru (his code name, lol) was 8, and he looks a lot like Bruce Lee . 

Because his learning is slow and poor he goes to extra classes , but today he doesn't want to go and so he cried . Dad brought him to me so I could help him with his homework .

Man... how am I gonna teach him, he doesn't seem someone who'd listen to any lectures .

Farewell... Komol's Cat!

Since we got to live in North Africa, we never had a cat . And we had moved from place to place. Unsettling . We found a good landlord one year ago and settled in a place that looked quite like a country side.

We have this neighbour called 'Kamaru Kojima' (that's just a code name, lol ). One day he brought a cat from a train station. The cat doesn't have a name, so I will just call it 'Guchi' right now. He was still a kitten when he was brought, but now he is a big cat. Kamaru had him stay in the rooftop. Our rooftop are connected so we usually have him to our place to play and eat. He is very naughty! Since we live at the 3rd floor, we don't the cat toilet. When he do poo-poo, he do it in the most difficult place to clean! He doesn't like to be loved either, he will only come to you when he needs something. But he is very cute! 

As he grew bigger, Kamaru stopped giving him much attention. The rooftop stinks of Guchi's crap. At first, when Dad came from England he was OK with the cat. But

[Book Review] Young Samurai #5 – The Ring of Water

In this 5th book, Jack will continue his journey with an awesome group; himself, a ronin (masterless samurai), and a (former) thief girl. These three makes an awesome group, and an astounding form of alliance!
Jack returns to his old school, and meets his former rival and enemy, Kazuki and his gang! 
I say that this book is an admirable peace of work. There's a lot of riddles to solve that I happened to know from the internet, hehe.

I figured people think this dance was hilariously awful (though I think it's really cute), that's why I decided to put it . I made the first one into my avatars in DCW and DCTP, and the second one into my signatures .

I was planning to change the head/face to that of my beloved Reiko Kujo  <3 But I'm really busy so... I decided I will do it next time
